What is this project, why Devils?
I'm sure this has a lot to do with storytelling and the D&D campaign that I played in. After searching through the books for more information on appearances, I discovered that the Lords of the Nine lack a little bit of consistency throughout the editions. And many, have not had any official updated artwork since 3.5. So, challenge accepted. What is the layout of the Nine Hells? Well, you see the rulers of each layer change a little bit along with their descriptions so I will be breaking down each ruler and each layer on Patreon. And as much as I took the descriptor from the AD&D book for Mephistopheles, I'll be playing around with my own version of each ruler based on the descriptions I enjoy or are drawn to the most. I don't want all the devil lords to look the same and I do enjoy dramatic symbolism and design elements to lean into themes. Up next, Belial & Fierna. |
